I had so much fun sneaking off of pregnancy bed rest to attend Albuquerque the Magazine’s 2013 Wedding Showcase Sunday afternoon at Sandia Casino! You’ll have to excuse the photo quality since we did not have our professional camera with us. It was so wonderful to get to meet some of New Mexico’s finest wedding professionals in person! Because I was a bit limited physically (I’m due very soon!), I wasn’t able to speak to everyone. However those I did get to talk to were absolutely charming and more than happy to tell me about their wonderful business.
Here are just a few of the wonderful vendors that I was able to stop and have a little chat with:
Bridal Elegance by Darlene
Darlene and her staff was incredibly nice and ready to answer questions! They had gorgeous dresses on display and were more than happy to describe the detailing of one particular wedding dress that I was completely smitten by! (See the photo above). They also had an amazing blush wedding gown by Maggie Sottero on display as you walked into the main event area. It was absolutely stunning and you can see a picture of it on the front page of their website: Bridal Elegance by Darlene
Orange September: An Event Company
Vicki and Jherica of Orange September featured an absolutely amazing booth showcasing a custom designed altar which they adorned by draping beautiful laces of various widths, shades, and styles. I’ve seen Orange September’s work popping up in many local weddings, events, and photo shoots, so I was especially excited to meet them. Not only are Vicki and Jherica extremely creative and talented, but they are incredibly sweet, smart and charming to boot!
ABC Cake Shop
I had so much fun taking pictures and asking questions at the ABC Cake Shop booth. I was so impressed with the fun and creative variety of cakes they had on display! The fondant detailing on the cakes, from whimsical colors and shapes to elegant cut damask patterns, showed off their talent and versatility beautifully. ABC Cake Shop believes in bringing creative visions to life and encourages brides to share inspirational photos and color swatches to their cake consultation. They are happy and willing to work with the bride to not only provide a delicious cake, but also one that will visually delight!
I had a great time checking out DJ Chil, A.K.A. Ryan Chilson’s booth. An experienced DJ that has worked for Kiss 97.3 as well as currently spinning music at Casa Esencia and the Q-Bar, Ryan expressed the importance of professionalism and attention to detail in every live performance he gives. Alongside providing DJ services, Ryan’s company also provides fun and unique lighting services to help amp up the party.
As a bonus, I ran into Sara, of The Big Day! Wedding & Event Planning. Sara was a contributing guest blogger in our Wedding Trends of 2012 feature, and I was happy to finally be able to meet her in person! She is as sweet as apple pie, and as an award winning event planner she absolutely loves helping brides realize the wedding of their dreams!
Along with these wedding professionals and others, I was able to meet and chat with the extraordinarily talented Lexi Petronis, Editor in Chief of Albuquerque the Magazine. She was an absolute doll to talk to and said she was very happy at the great turnout for the event!
